In the early 1980s, a group of university students began producing men's swim shorts with the intention of swimming in accordance with modesty principles. This approach, which emerged as an alternative to the prevailing conditions of the time, attracted significant attention and led to the establishment of the Haşema brand in 1987.

Starting in 1988, Haşema began selling its products via mail order. Soon after, the company recognized that women also had similar needs in this field. In 1990, Haşema initiated design work to produce swimwear that catered to women, and in 1992, it introduced the concept of modest swimwear, becoming the pioneer of a new swimwear category in both Turkey and around the world.

In 1996, Haşema opened its first retail store, marking the beginning of its journey into the world of direct-to-consumer retail. With the arrival of the new millennium and in line with the same vision, Haşema launched the Heşofman brand to meet the needs of those wishing to engage in sports while adhering to conservative standards.

Through its production of alternative swimwear and sportswear, Haşema has become an active agent of change in the industry. Since its founding, the company has led a significant effort in the media and on social platforms to challenge prejudices against the concept of modest swimwear and to promote its acceptance globally.

As the founding brand of this category and with its unwavering commitment to its original mission, Haşema has established itself as the leading and representative brand in this field.

To this day, Haşema continues to develop innovative and functional designs, constantly drawing from user experiences and advancing technologies, competing in quality with the world’s top sports brands. The company currently serves its customers through 6 stores in Istanbul, a total of 7 stores across Turkey, and over 100 distributors nationwide.
